2009 Stash Report week 46

Week 46 guess I missed a few weeks.
For the year I'm at 61 yds busted. Far short of my goal of 150 for the year but 61 yards is pretty good for me. I did manage to do some mindless sewing and get this string quilt top done. And to use up some yardage I whipped up the backing too.
Check out Judy's blog to see what other quilters have been up to this week.

It wasn't windy today she didn't have to hold the quilt down!

Been Sidetracked

Oh my it's been a while since I posted. Excuses, yes. I need to vent about this now that it's all done and settled.
First We sold a spec house and had to hurry and finish the basement for the buyer. Good we sold it but 20 some days to finish a lower level is alot of work and stress and prompting of sub contractors. And I thought we could finally take a long weekend and go camping, nope more working all weekend so we are done on time. Then........ our buyers can't get closed on their house in IL. Delay the closing a week delay another week still can't go camping on Mondays they say we can close on Friday on Friday they say the bank is missing papers maybe they can close on Monday a month of this is stressful. All the time thinking I just killed myself to get this house done for you and you can't closed. So originally we were supposed to close on Oct 6 We closed on Oct 30. Oct 30 a Friday (with snow falling outside 4:30 in the afternoon at the title company a waiting room full of stressed out people our closing was 1 hour late we get in to close and some of the papers had accounting errors (missing a 0 on our check that's a biggy) and had to be redone and they had to issue out new checks last day of the month a stressful deal all around. Saturday the weather changed warm and sunny we packed up and went camping for a week. Silver lining The week we went was the nicest weather we had since the first of October. We just really had time to do nothing and relax after a roller coaster month. We camped along the Platte river. I love fall. Lots of wildlife one morning I was hiking by myself and seen a mountain lion cross the trail about 75 feet ahead of me we both froze and stared at each other then he turned and walked up the trail a few yards then into the trees I turned around and went back to the camper not really scared just thinking about it. It was such a beautiful strong graceful animal take your breath away. Now I've been home for a week and have been really into nesting we did move in August and until yesterday have not hung a picture yet. So I'm decorating and sorting and moving furniture here and there. I just feel so relaxed and happy and joy full, and just releaved it's all done. (Sorry I just need to express I was so stressed and until your on the other side of it you don't realise how heavy it was on you.)

Design Wall Monday

Design Wall Monday
I have a designs wall at last. After thinking about it for a month or so. I know it's not much but it works. I decided to put it behind the door so its out of view when you look in to the room. If hubby doesn't see it I won't have to explain it to him.

Here is the string quilt blocks I am just starting. A month ago or so I bought a bag of sewing odds and ends(fabric, thread. lace, ribbon, zippers, and bias tape pkgs). The bias tape intrigued me. I will never use them for the purpose they were meant. Some are wide and I am going to use them as the center strip for the string blocks, see the grey. (I did wash a couple pieces and they didn't shrink so I'm safe on that front.)There are about 4 shades of grey and if they run out I could do the outside blocks in navy or light blue I'll wait to see what I end up with.

And on the floor is Judy's one Hour Quilt. I'm still a couple hours behind.

2009 Stash Report

I've been cleaning my stash and trying to get an amount of how much fabric I really have. I moved it to this bookshelf with the hope all the folded fabric would fit. I am over by about 80 yds Besides the folded fabric I have precut strips in the plastic drawers and precut squares in the small drawers on the shelve.

My report this week used 2 yds 27". Didn't add anything
So for the year I've busted 31yds 27".
