9 Patches and Snowballs

These are bad pictures I should redo them.   This is a quilt I started last February.  I had a sample block on my bulletin board for 2 years and finally started it.  I wanted to use up lots of blue especially country blue but, not end up with a country blue quilt.  So I hoped using navy, creams/tans, and browns would cancel it out.  I'm pleased with the overall color.  The quilt has 2 blocks.  A 9 patch and a snowball.  I put them together into a nine patch block.  Then pieced the blocks together to make the top.  I have a couple more seams and it will be done will post the finish top hopefully tomorrow.
.

The 9 patch uses a 2" square and measures 5".
The snowball starts with a 5 inch square with 2 inch square dog ears sewed across the center.  Folded over to make HST corners.

Great looking top. Nine Patches are such a great way to put lots of fabric to good use.
