Projects I'm working on

I'm stuck in a color rut. I just love red in quilts lately. I just started 2 quilts the red birds in the air from Fons and Porter. I just have these 2 blocks done.

I also stared the little star quilt. The blocks are 6". I did a doll quilt and just loved it so though I would do a bigger quilt. I have these 3 blocks done and all the fabric cut. The fabric saver system was a big help. Most of the pieces were already cut it will be very scrappy looking.

I have 8 of these poinsettia blocks done. After a year!!! (I need to applique leaves on yet.) I need 24 to do a quilt with alternating stepping stone blocks. I have the poinsettia block pieces all cut out. I'm going to use them as starter and enders to force myself to work on them. I don't like taking the time to pin the inset corners. I hope to get them done by Christmas. So I can display it.

I have to agree that there is something special about red quilts; I particularly like the darker red squares and stars in the top photo.

Your red quilts are so pretty! I love that Fons and Porter quilt and can't wait to make it myself. Your baskets are great too.

Red is my favourite colour, so it is hard to have too much red for me! Love the blocks you are working on :)

I love all of your red themed blocks. Where did you find the Poinsettia blocks? They are great.
I'm a scrappy fanatic too so I'm curious about the fabric saver system you talked about. Can you share your secrets?

Just dropping by to say hi. Bloglines marked all of your posts as new even though I've seen them before. It was nice to see all of your different quilts all over again. You are so prolific and do such good work. I've been stuck in a blue rut, and am thinking of getting my fall quilts done, but you are certainly tempting me to go towards red!

I've been anxious to see the quilt made from these blocks. Hope all is well and you are getting some sewing time.
