Blooming

Sorry I haven't posted for a while. My life has just got real hectic. Here's a photo of my plant. Can't remember what it's called starts with an A. A friend of mine stopped by and ooohed and ahhhhed over it said it was hard to grow??? She said her father grew them. I wasn't paying much attention to it and then one day I noticed it was starting to bloom and it is just gorgeous. It bloomed last summer and I thought It wasn't going to this summer but it did. I think it helped putting it by the patio door it gets more light there. I promise to post tomorrow about what I've been working on quilt wise.

love the colour of your amarylis (I'm not sure of the spelling)... They often seem too finiky for me -- but then I'm more a dessert plant woman - live without watering or die....

That is so pretty! I had no clue what it was either but that's me, I don't know much about plants.

We called it here in Holland a Clivia. It is a plant who can live for years!!! I love them so much. I had one but it won't get blooms... When I see yours now I will buy it again. They are so gorgeous

It is a clivia. I have one too and when it blooms, it is spectacular. I like the plant itself. So lush and green.

I think it's agapanthus (although I've never seen it in orange) or a kind of lily. Amaryllis is a very tall stalk with a single large trumpet flower or two on the stalk. It's lovely, whatever it is!
