Pine Burr Blocks

Here is the pine burr quilt that I started in December. The pattern is one of the free patterns from quilters cache. (http://www.quilterscache.com/) The blocks are 12" square. And I plan on setting them 5 across and 6 down then some kind of border. Haven't planned that far yet. I'm all out of creams for the back ground so I need to buy 3 or 4 more and enough of one of these for the back and the binding. Other wise it is all from stash. The black fabric was rescued from an Aunt that was "going to throw that ugly old stuff away" I've been hoarding it for about 5 years looking for the right pattern that would really high light it. When I'm done I have to show it to my aunt. She will get a chuckle out of it.

Thought I would include a pic of the back of a block. The centers are paper pieced. I've never tried this before. It's a little time consuming but the blocks come out very square.

Wow, those are tiny pieces! And, yes, I think your Aunt will get a chuckle out of what you did with that fabric. It looks great!

Cheers!

Very neat block! I don't think I like paper piecing enough to do it though!

That is a really pretty block and you have picked great fabric to highlight them. And vice versa. Your aunt will be proud. I
I haven't done any paper piecing and when I first saw the block, my initial reaction, nice, but I can't do that many triangles inside triangles thing.
