I did a CWD block today. Alarming Conditions it was a little tough and after I was done I realized I mad a little unplanned alteration on the block. I think I'm just going to make the Civil War Diary qult blocks in order starting with the top row and working down. Picking fabrics I think will be easier if I know what blocks are next to each other.

Civil War Diary Bocks

Picking fabrics I think will be easier if I know what blocks are next to each other.

Your CW block is wonderful! I plan on making Alarming Conditions as my next CW block. I like your idea of making the blocks in order so you can choose the colors to be used easier!
This is an amazing block! I have only done the simpler blocks so far. I think your plan about making blocks in order is a good one. The colors are the hardest thing for me to envision.
I think you might just inspire me to buy the book and give these a shot myself! Just lovely fabric choices!
Oh that block does look very complicated - I haven't yet moved onto anything that tricky! Every day I chose a more challenging one and then turn into a cowardy custard and frantically flip through the book until I find one that's nice and easy :-) Lily
