7 more Dear Jane blocks done. All though I think I might redo a couple of these yet. The light tan one was challenging and still not as good as I would like it but, after 3 tries it might be as good as it gets. And don't look at the light green one.

I did some project calculating. So far this year I finished 1 quilt and started 4. So I'm working on 43 quilts right now. Better then it was.

Dear Jane Organizing

I finished 2 triangle pieces this week. Then I got a little side tracked and sorted through my stash. It seams like I waste so much time looking for the right fabric for each block. First I have to figure out what color it should be so it fits in with the color lay out. Then I have to figure out which fabrics I haven't used yet. Some times I waste a half and hour to pick a fabric.

So I picked fabrics and look at blocks in the book checked the color lay out. I came up with this mess. I started with yellows and pulled all the yellows I wanted in my dear Jane quilt. I picked a block for each fabric then cut a strip for that block(only the color fabric). Some strips were 4 inches some where 2 inches depending on what that block needed. After I cut the strips I put the remaining fabric back in the stash. I had 3 left over yellows so I cut 5 inch strips off of each and set them aside for the border triangles. I then went on to the next color and so on. Each fabric has a tag pinned to it telling me where it goes g-8 m-4 etc. etc. And I have enough 5 inch strips set aside for the outside triangles. I hope this saves me lots of time from now on.

I lost some ground on my Dear Janes work has been very busy the last few weeks and I've had to work a lot of hours. But looking forward we should finish the project by Thanksgiving and then I will have some time off until the next project.

F-2 Kaleidoscope This one tuned out so nice. And it was a hard one.

J-4 Adelaine's Apron String. Oops! this is the crooked one. I made a second one that came out centered. The top triangle is smaller then the bottom.

K-8 Springbrook Park Never could of made this one with out paper piecing.

K-11 Columbine This one came out a little large so when I squared it up The star points got cut. I might redo this one.

E-1 Aunt Exie's Phlox Had a chance to do some Applique Tuesday night.

E-9 Quilt Jail This pink fabric is one of my favorite pinks.

E-10 Five and Dime

F-10 Potholder Grrrrrrrr!!!! I threw my first attempt at this one away it was so wonky I didn't want to look at it again. I modified the block a little and came up with this. Looks almost like the original.

H-13Farm Fields I just take a sigh of relief when I see the next block and it's a easy one like this one. Some of the hard ones I speed a lot of time just looking at.

B-9 Tinker Toy This one has 16 pieces they really don't show much.

C-1 Trooper Green's Badge An easy paper pieced block.

C-2 Streak of Lightning. I never would of figured out how to do this one with out Anina's help on Dear Baby Jane. It was a toughie!!

D-6 Challenge An easy one.

D-10 Battlefield This one turned out nice. I wish my sewing was always this exact. I need to give it a good press yet.

I'm back on the Dear Jane blocks. I am aways behind the group hopefully I will catch up now that I can really focus on the blocks for awhile. Here are my latest blocks from last week.

A-1 Pinwheel Gone Awry Lots of little hst in this one.



A-2 One-Two Buckle My Shoe This one was paper pieced in sections.

A-3 Hunter's Moon The block is appliqued on a pieced back ground.

B-5 Hot Cross Buns I think this one is cute. And yes, I still don't have my row B done like the rest of the group. I still need to square this one up.

Reject Janes

On my dear Jane journey I have been accumulating lots of reject blocks. To small not square. I seen a quilt similar to this but with 9 patches in the center. And I thought what a great way to use up the Jane blocks. Most of these blocks came out to 4 or 4-1/2 inches when they needed to be 5.
That light green one in the corner needs a contrasting border to show up better. Doesn't it? Love the way the pink one turned out.
