I made the blocks and then tried to figure out what to do with them. I tried setting them different ways and finally came up with these two quilts.
The yellow one is hand quilted. The blue one is tied.
I learned the hard way not to bias cut the outside half square setting blocks they caused me lots of trouble. 
The outside is kind of wavy oh well next time.

Great quilts. Do you hand piece and hand quilt a lot? I've been teaching myself to do both, but haven't finished a project yet.

What a great way to use 9 patches! I would have never guessed it at first glance but b/c you wrote about it then I could make out th e9 patches in the yellow quilt. Will have to jot that idea down for use later on some 9 patches I have been collecting... :c) ~Bonnie
