Scrappy Mountains Majesties

I also started this quilt the pattern is a free one from Bonnie Hunter at Quiltville Scrappy Mountains Majesties. I cut all the 8 1/2" squares out on Monday and am working on sewing them into large HST. The next steps are to square up the triangle and then cut into strips then sew the strips together to get the blocks. I made a few sample ones first. Instead of making the hill sides all the same fabric I decided to make mine a little more scrappy and mix them up. I'm using mostly fabrics claimed from used shirts but I had to mix in a few pieces from my stash. I'm trying to uses just blue tans and browns.

I did this pattern for an internet swap with about a half-dozen ladies. It turned out really nice, especially after I quilted it with leaves all over the top. I like your twist on it, using blues and tans. Very striking!

I like your Scrappy Mountains in blues and tans - its rather masculine. I made this quilt in pastels this year - its such a fun pattern and I think it always turns out looking quite attractive!

That pattern is pretty no matter what fabric is used in it. I do like the blue and brown choice you made, though. Mine's purples.
