Criss Cross Quilt

I am having a little splurge by letting my self start a few new projects. I've been eyeing this pattern for awhile. I have a few saved pictures of quilts with this pattern. I couldn't decide if I wanted light crosses are dark crosses. I finally realized I could use light crosses in the center then a border and then 2 or 3 rounds of crosses with dark centers.

I started with the light and they have been sewing up very fast. I used 4 1/2 " squares for the light then sewed 2 1/2 inch squares on the corners then trimmed the extra from the back.

The pictures explain it better then I could.

And I have to show my 2 1/2 squares bin. It was over flowing. All the squares I used for the corners on this quilt were pre cut from this bin what a time saver. If you don't use Bonnie Hunter's scrap saver system you should check it to it.

I really like this block -- very simple! I already have tons of squares cut using Bonnie's system. I think I'll have to start making up some of these blocks in between other sewing.
